Brent Cunningham (PhDc, Accredited Exercise Physiologist)
We specialise in understanding your personal response to exercise, using exercise tools from research, exercising through the ups-and-downs of life.
Our background includes: Hypertrophy, strength, and aerobic training for health; women's health, ageing (training at any age, for any goal), and clinical work (cancer and cancer survivorship).
Training today for your tomorrow.
Our Why
It takes 7-14 years for findings in research to be applied in the “real world”. Sometimes this means that really valuable and positive research can take a long time until people are able to benefit from it. Brent and Alex have been working on the front line of research with people everyday to determine the best ways exercise can improve outcomes. Wether it be helping people undergoing cancer treatment, recovering from intensive treatment regimes, injury or facing a big physiological change such as menopause. They are always looking into the latest innovations on how to optimise exercise to help people feel, move and live better. They created tmrw lab to be able to bring this expertise to more people. TMRW lab has been created using the best research and evidenced based tools to form exercise programs that work for you, no matter your life stage or goal.
Due to their extensive experience and qualifications they are uniquely positioned to be able to apply techniques and mechanisms in their exercise prescriptions to facilitate real changes for people of all backgrounds.
The changes that we have seen with those we have already worked with are profound and powerful. Not just on people’s appearance. But on their happiness, how much they engage in life, and most overwhelmingly their health and ability. In research, our job is to prescribe exercise and then measure the physiological adaptations, including: fitness, strength, muscle mass, systemic inflammation, visceral and body fat, bone health, and changes to the gut microbiome. We are taking that training and knowledge and applying it in everyone of our programs so you can benefit.
Alex is an expert on response to exercise and has been heavily researching the reasons behind why we all respond differently to training. Part of that research also involves looking into what we can do about it to make sure exercise is helpful for everyone, through all life stages, particularly as we age. Recently he has moved internationally to work in a leading laboratory to further investigate how menopause impacts women’s adaptation to exercise. Brent’s research is heavily focused on using exercise to support people with cancer, by using tools that allow people to train effectively even when they’re fatigued, sore, or not feeling up to it. He also uses this same skill set to ensure that anyone, no matter what they are going through, can get the most our of their training. Brent is also an accredited Exercise Physiologist and oversees all exercise prescriptions here at tmrwlab.
At tmrwlab we are striving to build stronger lives through science, using the very best of research, by providing you with clear and easy to use exercise programming and expert support from our highly qualified team.
